Words of Wisdom–The Savior Has Promised Forgiveness

Thursday, January 31st, 2008

The Savior Has Promised Forgiveness
“[A] group of youth adopted the motto ‘I Can Do Hard Things.’ They understand their identity, their mission, their source of guidance, and they receive strength through keeping their covenants. They also understand that when they make a mistake, they can change! Satan wants all of us to think that repentance […]

Words of Wisdom–Truth Will Triumph

Thursday, January 24th, 2008

From LDS Library Sunday Support:
Elder Robert S. Wood of the the Seventy in this excerpt from his talk in April conference, 2006 reminds us that truth will triumph even against the attacks from near and far. It is our responsibility to weather these attacks with a standard that denotes who we are and what […]

Happy Birthday, Grandma Irene 2008

Monday, January 21st, 2008

Grandma Irene would have been 85 years old today. She passed away in March 1979, almost thirty years ago. I was only fourteen years old at the time, but I remember Grandma. Today I live only two blocks from where her trailer used to sit.
I lived in California for many years, so I didn’t get […]

Orrock House

Sunday, January 20th, 2008

I think we have found Plan C.
Since we haven’t heard anything about the Rum River Home, we went to see a house in Orrock today with Roger the Realtor. I first heard about the house because Jennifer wrote me an email that her all-time favorite dream home in the world just had a major price […]

Happy Birthday Craig, 2008

Friday, January 18th, 2008

Today is Craig’s 38th birthday. I can’t believe he is getting so old. Of course, the fact that I will be 44 this year doesn’t count. I haven’t talked to Craig much over the years. I was able to visit with him at the family Christmas party for a little bit, and that was nice.
I […]

Good News from Aimee’s Teacher

Friday, January 18th, 2008

I got a phone call from Aimee and Bonnie’s school tonight at 6:30 pm. I couldn’t imagine why someone would be calling so late. The call was from Senora Boeser, Aimee’s teacher. She wanted to let me know that Aimee was doing very well and school and that she had raised her reading level up […]

Happy Birthday, Mom 2008

Thursday, January 17th, 2008

Mom turned 64 today. She probably won’t be happy to know that I shared that with the world, but my dad has it on the family calendar, so it’s not really a secret. I am glad to be closer to my Mom after so many years of being away. Now that I am a Grandma […]

Needing Hip Surgery

Thursday, January 10th, 2008

I received this email from Dad:
Some of you have been asking about my doctor appointment, so I will tell all. My left hip is okay, showing lots of space between the ball and joint. That might not be the correct description, but will have to do. (Cars have ball joints ;>)) Why […]

Hopkins House Sold

Monday, January 7th, 2008

We closed on our house today. The whole process has gone very smoothly, but I knew I would be anxious until the The new buyer, Danell, came to do the walk-through at 9:30 am. Dave, Bonnie, Pugsly and I all loaded up into the van and drove across the street to hide and watch. After […]

Not a Heart Attack

Sunday, January 6th, 2008

I’ve been having chest pains for the last three days. Yesterday we looked online to come up with our potential diagnosis. We narrowed it down to a couple of choices, but the disease of my choosing was Costochondritis. Since it didn’t seem life-threatening, I wasn’t too worried.
This morning I woke up and immediately noticed the […]
