Happy Birthday, Jesse
By Terrie Soberg | March 3, 2008
Jesse turned sixteen today. I love to think about the children and our birth experience on their special day. I had a much more difficult time remembering Jesse’s, because he is living with his father in Tennessee, and I feel sad that he is so far away. I wrote him a card and sent it in the box of gifts. I hope he will read it and get at least a sense of how I feel about him. This has been a hard time for everyone involved. One day, I know everything will be okay, but for now, I miss my Jesse.
Jesse was a very sweet baby. Having three older brothers made him pretty tough, but he still had a softer side. Jesse loved the Lion King when he was little. He had Lion King shirts, shorts, hat, sheets, pillow cases, the movie, the video game, and I, of course, made him a Lion King birthday cake when he was four.
It’s hard to believe that Jesse will be able to drive soon. It seems not so long ago that I held him in my arms. I only spoke to him for a short time tonight, but at least I was able to hear his voice. I’m happy that he is able to laugh and tease with the children, but I miss the times that he and I were able to do the same.
Happy birthday, Jesse! I love you very much!
