Kaeden at One Week
By Terrie Soberg | April 8, 2008
I talked to Danitta today. She is starting to feel better. They have been blessed to stay with her dad and step-mom this week while Kyle has had to work long hours to make up for having a baby and all of the rain. I know how nice it is to have someone around who can help, and I never had a c-section! Kaeden seems to be doing pretty well. His jaundice is going away. They are wondering if he may be lactose intolerant.
Here are some new pictures:

What a Sweetie!

Oh no, already a Vols Fan!

Doesn’t like bath time!

Words of Wisdom–The Necessity of the Fall
By Terrie Soberg | March 28, 2008
“The Fall was not a disaster. It wasn’t a mistake or an accident. It was a deliberate part of the plan of salvation. We are God’s spirit ‘offspring,’ sent to earth ‘innocent’ of Adam’s transgression. Yet our Father’s plan subjects us to temptation and misery in this fallen world as the price to comprehend authentic joy. Without tasting the bitter, we actually cannot understand the sweet. We require mortality’s discipline and refinement as the ‘next step in [our] development’ toward becoming like our Father. But growth means growing pains. It also means learning from our mistakes in a continual process made possible by the Savior’s grace, which He extends both during and ‘after all we can do’ (2 Nephi 25:23).”

March 2008 Updates
By Terrie Soberg | March 27, 2008
Where to start, hmm.
Kyle and Danitta
Danitta was told to go to the hospital today to be checked by her doctor because her blood sugar levels are too high in the morning. They are going to keep her overnight and see how she does tomorrow. They will also check the baby’s progress. As of right now, they have a C-section scheduled for April 2, 2008. When Danitta told me that, I said, well, 4-2-08, four times two is eight, so that isn’t a bad date, I guess. She started laughing and said that’s EXACTLY what Kyle told her I would say. So, not only am I a numbers person, but Kyle knows me way too well! Danitta and I were actually hoping for today, March 27, but that didn’t happen.
House
Roger called me today to say that although we don’t have a firm answer, we are making progress. The seller’s bank called their realtor today. They have gone through the review process, but now the want the papers and any offers received since the house was put on the market over 500 days ago. Um, ours in the only offer, so that shouldn’t take long. Roger also asked her if the people were still living in the house. Yes, they are. He asked the realtor once the decision is made, if the people already had a place to go so that we could make some kind of move-in agreement and get into the house sooner than closing. The lady yes, she would even insist on it. Starting to look a little more promising, I think. I told Roger that as Dave and I were getting ready to go to bed last night at midnight, I looked over at him and saw him staring forlornly off into space. I asked him what was wrong. Dave said sadly, “I am just waiting for Roger to call.” Roger just laughed and laughed. He said he was up at midnight and would have called if he knew. Poor David!
Aimee
We took Aimee to Urgent Care today for possible strep throat. She only has tonsillitis but is still on antibiotics. Good thing they are covered–the medicine cost $160.69. The doctor said she shouldn’t be contagious, so hopefully we won’t be passing it on. Jared and Bonnie have complained about not feeling well, but that seems more linked to being asked to do their chores.
Me
I am still nauseous all day and all night long, but that’s a good thing. I have occasional contractions, but they are a lot better. We are at nine weeks and four days, and counting. We’ll have a doctor’s appointment soon and see how things are then. David informed me at first that I will be wearing sweatpants and t-shirts for the next seven months. He went shopping today and brought home several very nice pairs of stretch pants from the 80% and 90% off racks. I am quite impressed!

Words of Wisdom–Looking on the Positive Side
By Terrie Soberg | March 27, 2008
“You have a choice. You can wring your hands and be consumed with concern for the future or choose to use the counsel the Lord has given to live with peace and happiness in a world awash with evil. If you choose to concentrate on the dark side, this is what you will see. . . . Now the brighter side. Despite pockets of evil, the world overall is majestically beautiful, filled with many good and sincere people. God has provided a way to live in this world and not be contaminated by the degrading pressures evil agents spread throughout it. You can live a virtuous, productive, righteous life by following the plan of protection created by your Father in Heaven: His plan of happiness.”

Words of Wisdom–Greater Faith Through Prayer
By Terrie Soberg | March 26, 2008
I wonder if we can ever really fathom the immense power of prayer until we encounter an overpowering, urgent problem and realize that we are powerless to resolve it. Then we will turn to our Father in humble recognition of our total dependence on Him. …
Be thankful that sometimes God lets you struggle for a long time before that answer comes. Your character will grow; your faith will increase. There is a relationship between those two: the greater your faith, the stronger your character; and increased character enhances your ability to exercise even greater faith.

Words of Wisdom–Marriage as a Binding, Eternal Relationship
By Terrie Soberg | March 25, 2008
“Marriage is meant to be and must be a loving, binding, harmonious relationship between a man and a woman. When a husband and a wife understand that the family is ordained of God and that marriage can be filled with promises and blessings extending into the eternities, separation and divorce would seldom be a consideration in the Latter-day Saint home. Couples would realize that the sacred ordinances and covenants made in the house of the Lord provide the means whereby they can return to the presence of God.”

Words of Wisdom–Doing Our Best With Our Families
By Terrie Soberg | March 24, 2008
“Sometimes as parents we feel we have failed when our children make mistakes or stray. Parents are never failures when they do their best to love, teach, pray, and care for their children. Their faith, prayers, and efforts will be consecrated to the good of their children. . . . No family has reached perfection. All families are subject to the conditions of mortality. All of us are given the gift of agency–to choose for ourselves and to learn from the consequences of our choices.”
